Graph Sketcher is a Mac OS X shareware program that lets you make elegant 2D graphs by simply sketching what you want.
It took less than 3 minutes to create each of these graphs: |
| |
| Sketch trends
Draw curves and shade in important areas. Only specify the details you care about. No equations necessary.

Plot data
Don't let Excel get you down. Paste your data into Graph Sketcher, add the labels and trend lines you need, and export directly to PDF. |

Do science
Visualize your experimental results - without the hassle. Import 1-D or 2-D data from anywhere via copy and paste. Fully compatible with 4th graders. | |

Track health
Keep track of your exercise, diet, or other indicators with a single click. If only customizing your weight was as easy as customizing your graphs. |

Go beyond
Invent novel ways of presenting your ideas by combining Graph Sketcher's many features.

 |
| |
| |
| In short, you can graph just about anything, and do it in record time. |

What DOESN'T it do?
Graph Sketcher does not attempt to be everything
but the kitchen
sink. In fact, that's the whole point. You could produce
all those pictures above with a general-purpose drawing program, except
that it would take you several
hours instead
of a few
minutes. Graph Sketcher is purposely
simple so that you can quickly find what you want. Meanwhile,
underground algorithms take care of all the messy details so you don't
even have to think about it. |

Cool, but I still don't know what it doesn't do.
Oh, right. For now at least, Graph Sketcher is not a
function graphing program (try Grapher in
Mac OS X Tiger). And
although it does have some convenient calculation abilities, it
is by
no means
a math or stat
package
(try Mathematica).
Finally, although it contains a mini spreadsheet, it is not Excel. Instead, Graph Sketcher combines just enough pieces from all of
these
worlds to let you make graphs fast and furiously.
Even better, unlike certain software products,
Graph Sketcher does not cause you to repeatedly
bash your head against your keyboard. In fact, in order to prevent that, Graph Sketcher has gone through
serious user interface testing -- the only way to
really find out how to make software intuitive to use. A preliminary usability report is available (if
you'd like some light reading). |
